Pricing Airline Tickets
With all the options available for pricing airline tickets, where should you go to make your purchase? It’s my experience and correct me if I am wrong, that there is not much wiggle room for price differences when it comes to booking an airline ticket. Unlike hotel rooms or vacation packages, it seems like the airlines do not offer discounts to the travel aggregators like Orbitz or Expedia. Below is an example of a random flight I just looked up going from Newark Airport to Las Vegas. I checked out Orbitz, Expedia and also looked directly on the Continental website.
As you can see they all come out with the EXACT same price. I have actually looked up several other itineraries and have come up with the same results. So with price not being an issue, where is your best option for booking a ticket?
